Out of A Spark Of Imagination, Reality Forms.....
Sitting on the foundation of the Louvre
My name is Jeniffer Sams and I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. I have had the advantage of living in several cities, affording me the opportunity to experience various cultures, explore numerous museums, as well as appreciating the uniqueness of each locality. Additionally, the fortunate circumstance of being able to travel to other countries has further broadened my perspective on culture, art, history, environmental concerns, museums, and life.
I have competed all my coursework in Curriculum and Instruction, Art Education at Indiana University for my EdD. I completed my Masters degree in Art Education at the University of Florida on August 10, 2012. I graduated from East Tennessee State University in May 2010 with an Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree in Art History and a minor in Education.
I am an accomplished professional with broad-based experience within the academic and business sectors. My background demonstrates success in managing operational and administrative functions. I possess a distinguished history serving as a member and advisory on a number of boards and committees. I am adept in building relationships with internal and external partners within business, academia, and the community- at-large. I have over a decade of experience working with community and educational systems providing art instruction, You & IU (a course for incoming freshman at the collegiate level teaching critical thinking and campus resources), and leading the development and implementation of art programs in K-16 grades which drives interest for and fosters a love for the arts and the environment. I am additionally accomplished in developing robust education programs by working with colleagues to create up-to-date curriculum, lesson plans, and course materials. Prepared to bring talent, leadership, and expertise to growing education association.
With a broadened view of cultures, arts, museums, history, and religions I am excited to continue toward a life-long learning toward expanding my proficiency in art history, environmental art education, museum education, world cultures/cultural interactions, art education, French, Italian, religious studies, and developing additional skills, which will contribute toward my personal growth as well as develop my educational and career path in a field I adore.
