GC Shades of Green (GC SOG) is an organization dedicated to responsible leadership grounded in ethics, corporate and social responsibility for the creation and maintenance of a sustainable world. The mission of GC Shades is to develop environmentally responsible citizens through collaboration with the GC Sustainability Council, students, faculty, staff, community members, and strategic business partners. Thus, GC Shades of Green is dedicated to providing valuable transformative interdisciplinary learning opportunities outside of the classroom that expands knowledge beyond textbooks and lectures to influence.

Jeniffer Sams is an accomplished professional with broad-based experience within the academic and business sectors. Background demonstrates success managing operational and administrative functions combined with a track-record of excellence providing art instruction at the collegiate level as well as the K-12 level. She frequently leads the development and implementation of environmental art programs and initiatives to drive interest and foster a love for the arts and the environment. She has a distinguished history serving as a member and advisor on a number of boards and committees. She is also adept in building relationships with internal and external partners within the business, academia, and the community-at-large. Jeniffer's most recent academic publication: "Jeniffer Sams and Doreen Sams (2016) “Art Education as a Vehicle for Social Change: An Empirical Study of Eco Art in the K-12 Classroom,” Australian Journal of Environmental Education, 33 (2), 1-20.

Providing Art Education at Summer Camps - Providing Summer Camps when possible for the Women's Center. The mission of the Ruth Hartley Mosley Memorial Women's Center is to cooperate with a variety of community of organizations to provide resources focused on enhancing life skills and empowering the family unit.

Pollock in the Park - Indiana University Students Art Gathering (Organized by several Art Ed students including myself) - Bring a Canvas for anyone in your group who wants to paint, some enamel house paint to share, any items you want to mix in your paint (sand, glitter, etc.), items to get paint onto the canvas, and yourself! Meet, Make, and Munch - Come join us for a back to school Meet, Make, and Munch! We will be meeting our new students, meeting up with our friends we haven't seen over the summer, making art, and munching on snacks!
If you can make the meeting or think you will drop by it will help to know how many supplies and how much food to bring so please RSVP by the first week of school if you are able.
